Glass mended fine and FREE!!!! However in bad news I obvsiously wasn't sprightly enough on hearing the binmen yesterday morning as the bin was still nearly full. God damn those 6 week old grass cuttings!
Managed to get out on another bike ride again yesterday. Very nice too. Quite tiring. However it was nice to be out of the house as sister still hasn't done her washing up from before the weekend. Yes she had a busy weekend- so did I but I still managed it. Yes she had a job assessment yesterday, but she was still in the house when I left yesterday morning and had returned before I did and I still managed it. I just bite my tongue, then e-mail the parents.
Fortunately I'm not at home tonight as I'm playing squash with my brother.
Spent all morning in Court today not getting very far. With being in town I texted the BFO to see if a lunch meet would be acceptable, however no reply was received. Think it may be down to free text limits, however may be down to the drunken text of the weekend where I said that I couldn't pull because of the text I'd just received from the BFO saying my voicemail had only just got there. (keep up!). It could have been read light-hearted but the alcoholism meant that I missed out a few !!!s which would have made it clear it was supposed to be light-hearted.
Ah well...

BTWT
As in Back To Work Tuesday following a weekend of excesses...
However first to relieve anyone still on tenterhooks. Following Thursday when I had 'heard nothing since' indeed that very evening I did hear something.
I got a text on arriving home saying that it would be better if we were just friends. Hmmm, not ideal but acceptable. I keep thinking it could give me a base to work from, but that may get a bit stalkerish, desperate and eventually lonely. Still, friends is good- never read in any detraction from that. Friends really is good, but more would have been bloody fantastic.
Anyhow, then I took my wee little trip to Manchester with my mate from London- LittleGayBri. I have to name this one I'm afraid as I already have a nickname for him. He's little, gay and called Brian so it shortens nicely.
Anyhow, we went over on the Friday and it was busy and we both saw people we knew and generally had a good (if a little annoying) time. LGB doesn't really have much gumpsion about him. He has no sense of urgency, purpose or direction. Coupled with what is academically an astounding mind yet with little general knowledge and no common sense it all makes for an amusing character. Unless you're ready to go out somewhere and end up having to wait more than an hour whilst final preparations are completed to hair/face/clothing... Yes, we were quite late out all nights.
Generally the nights were more or less the same- lots of drinking, various pubs, onto clubs. I was very proud of myself though as on NONE of the three nights did I ask to go home first!!
Saturday was the only night when events differed substatially. Saturday night I got lucky with someone quite short from Leeds (you go all the way to Manchester just to pull someone from up the M1!). Anyhow, things went well and we went back together which involved a bit of fun until LGB arrived back and kinda put paid to anything more happening, moaning about how the reception staff had interrogated about the number of people in the room! Well, me and the LittleLeedsLover (snappy!) couldn't do much then, however that didn't prevent a number of love bites- and indeed real bites!- being inflicted on me. And a little bit of fun once LGB was asleep. Otherwise relatively uneventful.
LLL did text me last night with some quite rude suggestions, however Leeds is a canny wee way and I'm not sure it would be a suitable relationship to progress too far. Especially as I was chatting online to one of my previous FunFriends who is kinda-but-not-really in a long-distance relationship and who is considering better off out of it. I don't see it lasting long, especially as there has already been fun outside the relationship, which apparently doesn't count because of many busy weekends and the kinda-but-not-really nature and all sorts of stuff.
Productive day at work though. Just need a few more like it and I'll be a happy-yet-still-busy-bunny. Hopefully going for a cycle tonight after the car has had it's windscreen repaired (just a couple of chips but needs sorting for the MOT) and I've had my steak mmmmmm......

Black Thursday
Well.......it's a bad day. And it's raining.
I had heard nothing about the possibility of a date last night so I rang at about 9 ish. It went through to answerphone.
I tried again at bout quart'ten and again it went through to answerphone so this time I left a message. Basically it said that I thought it had been really nice but that I could tell there wasn't going to be another date, although if I had got the wrong end of the stick to let me know and we'd go out again.
And I've heard nothing since.
There is a faint glimmer that maybe I'll get a phonecall when I get in tonight, that maybe evenings are the best time and a chat is needed, but it is a faint glimmer.
I just feel that, after all that time and effort, that there would be something more. I'm not blaming anyone, just that the spark obviously wasn't there which I would have thought it should have been. It's a real shame. I've not felt so gutted about a break-up in years, and this was only after second date! I didn't even feel this gutted over the end of the 9 month thing, although I was expecting that and was really frustrated anyway.
Anyhow, today's not been so great. Got nothing at all to do tonight as I cut the lawn and packed for the weekend last night on the hope that there would be a date tonight.
Still, 2 bits of good news- now back in my own office at work, and also found the nail file. I now have 2!

Tuesday- just a quickie
Nothing really to report, other than a ridiculously early text from my Ex, just saying how nice a day it was. Basically I think trying to play with my mind but I really can't be arsed.
I've moved on. I am so glad the Ex and I split as I can look back now see just how annoyed and frustrated I used to get. Furthermore if the Ex is going to make it difficult for us to be friends, or try and split me and anyone else up, I can't be bothered trying to keep an awkward mate and will happily walk away.
Entirely seperately, I'm really looking forward to the next time I get to see my date. I can't stop day-dreaming. I really hope this works out as it's been so long in the pipeline. And everything's just FANTASTIC!!!!!

Monday (+1 week- apologies!)
Yes, Monday +1. This is because I have moved department temporarily and am in one of my bosses' seat, using the my bosses' computer. Didn't want to leave my trail all over it, however it's getting desperate now.
Where did I leave my life? Oh yes, went out with the ridiculously-tall-now-ex-date (the one who referred to 1st date as 2nd date all the time) and managed to supress that nice and fast. Well, almost... Considering as RTNED doesn't frequent the same clubs and me very often, there was a surprising presence over the following weekend (12-14- I ended up going out both nights again), although I managed to avoid any actual or virtual contact entirely, fortunately.
However the Friday night was the most FANTASTIC night in the history of the universe as someone that I've fancied for about 5 years was out clubbing. Basically the only problem with us going out up until recently was the fact that for most of the time I was at Uni, and then when I came back there was no sign of the Bloody-Fantastic-One as the BFO was in Australia. We used to live in the same village, and I was offered a car-ride back once but got too drunk. Still, getting sorted now.
Anyhow, on the Friday we got together, but unfortunately I had a sort of mate from Newcastle down who was staying in the spare room at mine so I couldn't go back. Did on Saturday though, only to sleep. no rudeness. But generally fantastic!!!
We went out again on thursday for a really nice meal and almost arranged Saturday but unfortunately something else cropped up, though not with me. May be out this Thursday, time permitting but it's a busy weekend what with Manchester.
My only concerns are that it seems a bit hot-and-cold. When we're together we can hardly keep our hands off each other, but when we're not it's me that has to ring up, and no matter how many texts I send I get brisk replies if any. I think it's perhaps just that some people are better at texting etc. than others, and I have to keep telling myself to be a little cautious and not to rush as it's still only just gone the first week. And of course it is inherent in my nature to fret and panic!
Anyhow, I was out on Saturday but with my usual friends. My Ex turned up for the first time in ages. Made polite conversation and then my excuses. And again. Third time the conversation was a little more in depth- why didn't I go round any more. Basically I said I didn't go round any more because I permanently felt awkward, and it could be a little difficult to explain to anyone I was going out with- which prompted the question was I going out with anyone. I think I side-stepped that, but I'm not sure... drink and all. Anyhow, what with the Bloody-Fantastic-One not being out, and my Ex being out and it being a relatively quiet night I made early excuses
Otherwise my time has been relatively uneventful. Work is entertaining at the minute though

Funky Friday
Indeed off into town again TWICE- no sooner had I got there, then the firm rang to say they had given me the wrong things and could I come back and take the others!
Last night was ironing night which involved ironing, watching tv and drinking. It's easier if you drink and watch tv- the time flies. I also did a bit of tidying round and sorting out and the house looks good. Ready for the weekend! Just need to cut the lawn. Will be round at my borther's most of the weekend helping fit the cooker though.
Need to have a word with my sister sometime soon. Almost every time I get home and she's not there, the alarm hasn't been set. It's starting to get annoying now. Today however I got up and went downstairs to find every single light had been turned on after I went to bed, and left on till the morning.
Chatted to First Date last night on tinternet. Had a really nice chat actually. And it wasn't me who instigated it like a stalker. There is still the 3rd party though so I'm not going to be getting anywhere any time soon.
A night out boogying tonight. Should be good but for it raining.

Manic Thursday
To bastardise another song title.
Well, Tuesday went suitably hurrendously. Went out, met up with the date who, throughout the evening kept referring to it as second date! I only had time to eat a very quick sandwich at home, therefore the 2 bottles of wine and 3 pints of premium lager EACH took effect on the pool that I was trying to play. And it made avoiding the kisses difficult to the stage of impossible. On leaving the final venue I was asked when we would be meeting again and I replied, as tactfully as wine and beer allowed that we wouldn't as I just wasn't attracted. I got a taxi back.
The following day, having left my mobile at home accidentally until I was passing at lunchtime, there was a text saying that I obviously was attracted and how did I know it wasn't going to work. I replied there was no attraction and to go off and find someone nice. Fortunately our circles are almost as far apart as possible so should not prove awkward. But I'm sure it will.
Last couple of days have been a wee bit manic at work, constantly popping into town for various things. Helped my brother with a cooker last night before going off to play tennis which was cut short as he got caught short. Well, he needed a poo.
And so off into town again...

Monday Monday
in the words of the Carpenters
Ah, what a weekend. Friday was a bloody mess though Saturday improved somewhat. Sunday, as with most Sundays, didn't exist, except as the limbo before Monday.
Friday was a bit of a mess because I was quite tired anyway, then I didn't get chance for a wee nap before going out- because we were going out earlier which further compounded it- and also I stuck to the stronger lagers rather than moving to the weaker ones later on. This all meant that I was not in a fit state to remain in the club after 1, though in all fairness I did manage to keep the vomit very reduced and only in the front garden- not in the club, taxi or even any more in the house.
Whilst in the nightclub on Firday I bumped into an old friend from university who now lives and works down in Nottingham, so we had a good catch-up which would have been much improved i I could remember what we talked about, and had I not sent the text on leaving that I wish my bed wasn't so lonely!
Saturday was good though. Went out again, same mates (not the old friend from university lot, my usual Nottingham buddies) with a couple of new ones, one of whom blatantly fancied me but I managed to talk to other people for most of the time. Then one of my friends started chatting to someone even taller than me, and I got chatting too, and then it led to us kissing. However throughout the night I was having to constantly deny being a 'player'. I had no idea what a player was, but apparently it is someone who will go for just about anything. Not me- I'm actually quite picky. However, when we got back and undressed things weren't quite so pretty. Had a good night but it was the sort of night where it might have been better had we stayed fully dressed.
Well, the upshot of it is that I'm probably going to have to go on a date tomorrow night just to prove that I'm not a player. And I don't want to go because there isn't much, if any, attraction there. Well- it's my own fault. One date maybe, just to sort it out...
Did manage to weed the garden though. And popped round to my brother and sister-in-law's for a barbeque. They have a new kitten which is very sweet. My sister and her partner were round as well (though considerably late) and her partner spent a lot of time trying extremely hard to be funny. This is the same partner who has recently been on a course to be a stand-up comedian and is now starting on the club scene. He's lucky he knows club owners otherwise he wouldn't get bookings. He's constantly touching her as well- really irritating.
And so the tention builds....

Day 7- Friday
Not much has happened.
Wednesday played tennis with my brother and sister-in-law. Thursday I was in court, although we lost a convict. Well, I say that, the convict got sent down, only to get sent home due to an admin error which meant the case had to be mentioned today to send him down properly.
Manchester is getting sorted. Booked hotel after much trouble due to almost every hotel being full.
Bought nail file for work. My other has gone into the Bermuda triangle. My desk seems to 'loose' bits and bobs, only for them to reappear inexplicably days later. The nail file's been gone for more than a week however is due to return now that I've bought a new one.
The second car is in the paper. Parents (who left for France yesterday) had someone look round it on Wednesday, however no other bites yet. Started it up last night- will be a shame to see it go.
Sister wants to share the shopping whilst the parents are away. I don't because she buys really really expensive stuff.
Went round to see the Ex last night. Not too bad, but there was some whining at the end and could we have a bit of fun. Stuck to my ground. Won't go again if it's going to get like that.
Chatted online to my recently-single-friend last night for a wee bit but think I may have caused offence by saying it hadn't been love. The reason I said it is because they never looked in love. And love only kicks in after about 3 or 4 years, once the lust chemicals have died off. Of course, we say love before then, but that's just to show it's more than passion. We'll both be out tonight though so if necessary I can clarify.
Had an appaulling start today. Got up about half an hour later than normal. Still got into work fine. The 6 mini bottles of Stella and two glasses of wine probably didn't help though!

Day 6- Tuesday
Yesterday evening turned into a mini-nightmare. Took the dog for a walk, doing the circular walk that I prefer. Got part way round and entered a field which I will call Field 1. On leaving the other end of Field 1, two cows appeared meaning the dog's exit was a little faster than normal. This is not very important yet.
Walked on quite a bit further, through the next villiage and back into the fields by the river. Field 2 (as it shall be known) had some cows at the other end. Wouldn't have been a problem but they were blocking the gate to Field 3. The dog would normally find her way around the cows on her own, keeping a more than repectable distance so as not to cause problems; therefore I made my way very carefully through the herd, through the gate and into Field 3, where there were more cows. Again, not a problem as the adjacent field was empty and the dog could get into that without any cow trouble.
For some reason the dog decided to remain resolutely in Field 2, not going round as expected. I was trying to whistle to her to go round but she instead chose to sit. The cows did not, and decided to investigate me. I remained calm, moving slowly and not causing any problem until my friend from London rang to arrange details of a trip to Manchester we are planning. So I was trying to call to the dog, who had decided to start attracting the cows' attentions; also to navigate my way through the herd and also hold a conversation with my friend.
In the end I just had the conversation with my friend, by the end of this the cows had got bored and moved off allowing the dog free passage. She really doesn't help me sometimes!!!!
Otherwise it was an uneventful night.

In the end I just had the conversation with my friend, by the end of this the cows had got bored and moved off allowing the dog free passage. She really doesn't help me sometimes!!!!
Otherwise it was an uneventful night.

Day 5- Monday
I really am all in favour of a 4 day week, 3 day weekend. Must get round to proposing it at work soon...
Friday was a night in with beer. Shame because Friday is the busier night clubbing but none of my mates were out due to my recently-single-friend not wanting to see the ex. Was useful though as I just watched tv and recharged my batteries.
Did go out Saturday night to find out that one of my friends had indeed been out on Friday. Hmmph! Ah well, batteries were more or less recharged all the same. Saw someone really cute in both the pub and the club. I've seen the cutie out before but somehow or other there is a connection with my Ex. Don't think it's as strong a connection to be called 'mates', just think they know (or used to know ) each other. Nothing happened though as I was too busy watching the beer monster steal all of my money and keeping an eye out for my recently-single-friend's ex. Someone bought some red shots which were drunk, then I- on finding out the red shots were not Aftershock- bought more red shots, this time they were Aftershock. Anyhow, someone couldn't drink one so I had to have more. Damn...
Anyhow, my sister collected me from outside the club. It's very useful to have a sister who works as a door person occasionally! Free taxi home (would have been a very cheap night had it not been for the red shots!) perfectly timed as my recently-single-friend was starting to get a little too close which we would both have ended up regretting.
Why didn't I make a move on the cutie in the club?!?! It's going to be the airplane saga all over again!!! Ah well, it's not the first time that Ihave spied that particular cutie in that particular club so I shall just have to hope for this weekend!! Don't know if it'll be both nights or just one.
As a wee post-script, it turns out that after I left my recently-single-friend's ex did turn up, apparently wanting to stay mates with me and the others. This would cause problems naturally, not least because we didn't get on, but also because- no matter how long you go out with the same group of friends- unless something particularly heanous occurs you will always be 'partner-of-the-friend' and never really quite make it to 'friend'. As such my mate would always come first anyway, but as I say there's no contest here- I know which who I prefer.
First weekend in a very long while (in this country at least) that I have not had a text of any sort (let alone horny) off the Ex. Quite quite nice! I believe it is because the Ex has gone off with new fella camping. We used to camp so I hope the new fella didn't mind if he got taken to one of our old haunts. I'd have found it weird, but the Ex would not have understood why.
Speaking of texts, it's been a crackers weekend. No sooner had I stepped into the pub on Saturday than 3 of my old mates from Newcastle texted. One, who I fancy a wee bit, wanted to come down for a weekend. Good good. Another wanted my email just for an update and a third had moved to Manchester.
and so a bizarre, yet quiet weekend ends
