So, it's Valentine's day.
I've just had my meal for one and am about to go hard at it in the spare room getting hot and steamy. Scrubbing the old paint off the ceiling.
But let us, for a moment, remember what those loving couples are celebrating today:

Just a quick update on the local news story. It was back in the local paper again today... Page three, just under the dramatic pictures of a car on fire in which nobody got hurt.
There was a protest at the library yesterday. Mothers turned up to protest about being banned from breast-feeding. This is despite them not actually being banned from breast-feeding: the council has said (since the beginning) that it "is investigating the matter and that it fully supports breast-feeding".
Three mothers.
That's one hell of a protest.
